Workshop: Anticipatory Action for Displacement

The Working Group on AA for Displacement seeks to accelerate the design, development, implementation and streamlining of anticipatory action approaches for displaced people and those at risk of becoming displaced.

In December 2025, the WG with the German Red Cross is convening a one-day workshop to catalyze collaboration and continue progress on key joint deliverables to accelerate our work in 2026 and beyond. While the term ‘AA and displacement’ can take on many meanings, the workshop will focus specifically on 1) AA for already displaced populations ahead of climate-related hazards, and 2) AA in anticipation of displacement and its impacts to mitigate rates and length of displacement, and key humanitarian impacts.
